Dear Friend,

March marks a time of dual celebrations and reflections as we embrace Developmental Disabilities Awareness Month and Women's History Month.

NCC's mission is to enhance the lives of people of all ages, diverse backgrounds, and differing abilities through inclusive opportunities. As we begin Women's History Month, I am grateful for the unyielding women leaders in our organization—like our direct support professionals and educational staff—and community who champion a more inclusive world.

In accordance with the National Women's History Alliance's theme, we celebrate the "Women Who Advocate for Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion." Throughout American history, women have been at the forefront of movements for social change: abolitionists, suffragettes, civil rights leaders, and disability rights activists. Today, women continue to lead efforts to shape a better world.

This month is a moment to reflect on the year-round contributions of women past and present who embraced diversity and advocated for equity. We are grateful for their valuable contributions to our world.

This year, the theme for Developmental Disabilities Awareness Month is "A World of Opportunities." At NCC, belief and fundamental principles converge to ensure that all individuals, regardless of their abilities, are empowered to live, grow, work, and thrive in a community that embraces and celebrates everyone's contributions. A world of opportunities imagines inclusivity daily, without limits or barriers, but opens doors and minds for all to achieve.
