Dear Friend,

Today, June 19, 2024, NCC takes an introspective look at past triumphs, profoundly commemorating a moment that embedded an imperative turning point in our history. NCC upholds creating inclusion, compassion, and empowerment within the community for individuals with varying abilities to live, grow, work, and thrive. This would not be possible without the catalyst in which our country experienced on Emancipation Day. Today is not an intangible symbol to remember one day out of the year. Today, in 1865, we rewrote our lives' stories, restructured our society's fabric, and advocated human rights for an inclusive future.

As we honor the challenges of our predecessors, we are living this moment. Today, we commit to equality, equity, and empathy as fundamental pillars of our community. It is our collective responsibility to uphold these values, actively shaping the future. The theme for this year's Juneteenth, 'Community, Unity, and Commitment', prompts us to reflect on its personal meaning and strive for lasting change in ourselves and others every day.
